Tons of people want to learn how to cook, yet the threat of feeling like you have to cook fancy meals that take at least 2 hrs in the kitchen sounds just about as fun as listening to that screaming child in the doctors office that is inexplicably always there.
As I was skimming through cooking blogs I drowned in the "gourmet chef blogs" yet saw no one who wanted to cook great meals THAT ARE EASY! Search no longer because you have found the perfect blog.
This week I decided to experiment and find a fast and delicious way to make one of my favorite restaurant dishes. I salivate at the thought of Noodle & Co's Penne Rosa. Their amazing pink sauce that has just a little bit of zest to it gains my applause. Without further adieu I bring Penne Rosa to your kitchen in 15 minutes!
You'll Need:1 Bag of Penne noodles
1 can marinara
1 pint of heavy whipping cream
1 container of sliced mushrooms
salt and pepper to taste
1 tsp crushed red pepper
1/2 bushel of spinach
2 chicken breasts
2 cloves of garlic
Instructions:
Pour 1 can of marinara into a sauce pan on medium heat. While the marinara heats up bring water to a boil (a pinch of salt in the boiling water will help the pasta not stick to the pan) and add the pasta. Add mushrooms, spinach leaves (pulled from stems), crushed pepper and garlic to the marinara and let simmer for about 10 minutes or until the mushrooms start to get tender. Then add the whipping cream little by little (pour a little stir it in ect.) and let the sauce thicken. While your sauce thickens grill the two chicken breasts and cut them into thin slices and add to marinara. By this time your pasta should be ready, drain your pasta and add it to the sauce. Whaa Laaa you've got a delicious Penne Rosa for 4!
