Pizza Pizza

I've never made the perfect pizza dough before. I have terrible memories of laying flour all over the kitchen counter only to find that my pizza dough was thin and sticking to my hands, the counter, and was even later found in my hair! Eeeks I think we all know what I'm talking about. No one wants to make a homemade pizza. Especially because let's face it, the food industry has made it really easy to get a delicious pizza to our house in about fifteen minutes.

But I can tell you that there is truly nothing like a homemade pizza. Even the aroma that fills your home as the cheese melts and the parmesan covered crust begins to cook is enough to make me want to make a homemade pizza. Not only that but the taste of a homemade pizza is so completely different than take out, and worth it (if you can find an easy recipe). With that in mind I have found the solution to this pizza debacle, a pizza you can make at home that only takes a few minutes to put together (and everyone will think it's completely homemade!). Shout out to my awesome sister in law Melanie for this awesome recipe.

You'll need:
1/2 lb bulk pork sausage
2 T butter, melted
1t garlic powder
2t Italian seasoning
1 tube (13.8 ounces) refrigerated pizza crust
2T grated parmesan cheese
2c (8 ounces) shredded mozzarella cheese
2 medium Roma tomatoes, thinly sliced

Instructions:

In a large skillet, cook the sausage over medium heat until it is no longer pink. Drain the sausage and set it aside.

Press the pizza dough into a greased 9X13 baking dish. Brush the dough with butter; sprinkle the crust with Parmesan cheese and garlic powder. Layer the crust with 1 cup of mozzarella, sausage, and tomatoes. Sprinkle the pizza with the remaining mozzarella and Italian seasoning.

Bake at 400 degrees for 20-25 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted. This will make about 6 servings.

Happy eating food lovers!

Pizza's such a great and simple meal - and you really can use up leftovers, too! One thing me and the hub do a lot is take frozen bread dough, defrost it, and tada! Pizza dough!

pizza! i'll definitely try that out once I get a breather from school, work, and twitter. I've always tried to make donuts on my mission and i've never succeeded. Maybe you could find a successful recipe and procedure to do so?
